Determined is a resume power word that describes the ability to:
• Have a clear idea or notion as to what the goals are.
• Have a plan for any project or reaching goals
• Be steadfast to your decisions

What to be determined: decisions, long term goals, short term goals, financial plans, marketing
plans, choices, hiring the right candidates, types of webpage layouts

How to use determined in your resume:
• Use determined to show your resolve in a decision.
• Use determined to demonstrate that you are a person of your word. You mean what you
say.
• Use determined to illustrate your planning and process skills.

Example that shows resolve:
• Was determined to train and finish a marathon by 2011 and succeeded.
• Conclusion: This candidate was able to have a goal in mind and was successful in
achieving it.

Example that shows profit oriented thinking:
Determined to raise the company profits up by 2% the next fiscal year.
